Ziyarat of Holy Prophet (PBUH)

This Ziyarat of Holy Prophet (SAWA) is recommended to be read on Saturdays. According to a tradition, Imam Sadiq (a.s.) said: Before proceeding to Medina or prior to entering it, perform Ghusl. Then proceed to the grave of Allah’s Messenger (s.a.w.s.) and salute him. Go to the pillar located on the right by the head of the grave. Stand there with your left shoulder towards the grave, your right shoulder towards the pulpit of the Prophet and face the Qibla, this being the closest location to the head of the Prophet. Then recite this Ziyarat

زيارة محمد صلى الله عليه واله وسلم
اشْهَدُ انْ لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ ٱللَّهُ
I bear witness that there is no god save Allah;
وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ
alone without having any partner;
وَاشْهَدُ انَّكَ رَسُولُهُ
and I bear witness that you are His messenger
وَانَّكَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِٱللَّهِ
and you are Muhammad, the son of `Abdullah.
وَاشْهَدُ انّكَ قَدْ بَلَّغْتَ رِسَالاتِ رَبِّكَ
And I bear witness that you have truly conveyed the missions of your Lord,
وَنَصَحْتَ لامَّتِكَ
well-wished for your nation,
وَجَاهَدْتَ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ
striven hard in the way of Allah
بِٱلْحِكْمَةِ وَٱلْمَوْعِظَةِ ٱلحَسَنَةِ
by means of wisdom and excellent preaching,
وَادَّيْتَ ٱلَّذِي عَلَيْكَ مِنَ ٱلحَقِّ
and fulfilled the duty that is incumbent upon you;
وَانَّكَ قَدْ رَؤُفْتَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
and you have been sympathetic with the believers
وَغَلَظْتَ عَلَىٰ ٱلكَافِرِينَ
and unyielding to the unbelievers;
وَعَبَدْتَ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصاً
and you have worshipped Allah sincerely
حَتَّىٰ اتَاكَ ٱليَقِينُ
until death came upon you.
فَبَلَغَ ٱللَّهُ بِكَ اشْرَفَ مَحَلِّ ٱلْمُكَرَّمِينَ
Allah therefore has lifted you up to the most honorable place of the honored ones.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي ٱسْتَنْقَذَنَا بِكَ
All praise be to Allah Who has saved us, through you,
مِنَ ٱلشِّرْكِ وَٱلضَّلالِ
from polytheism and deviation.
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ
O Allah, (please) send blessings to Muhammad and his Household,
وَٱجْعَلْ صَلَوَاتِكَ وَصَلَوَاتِ مَلاَئِكَتِكَ
and make Your blessings, the blessings of Your angels,
وَانْبِيَائِكَ وَٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
Your prophets, the Messengers,
وَعِبَادِكَ ٱلصَّالِحِينَ
Your righteous servants,
وَاهْلِ ٱلسَّمَاوَاتِ وَٱلارَضِينَ
the inhabitants of the heavens and the [layers of the] earth,
وَمَنْ سَبَّحَ لَكَ يَا رَبَّ ٱلعَالَمِينَ
and ever one who glorifies You, O Lord of the worlds,
مِنَ ٱلاوَّلِينَ وَٱلآخِرِينَ
from the past and the late generations,
عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِكَ وَرَسُولِكَ
be on Muhammad, Your servant, messenger,
وَنَبِيِّكَ وَامِينِكَ
prophet, trustee,
وَنَجِيبِكَ وَحَبِيبِكَ
elite, most-beloved,
وَصَفِيِّكَ وَصِفْوَتِكَ
elect, choice,
وَخَاصَّتِكَ وَخَالِصَتِكَ
dignitary, select,
وَخِيَرَتِكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ
and the best of Your creatures.
وَاعْطِهِ ٱلفَضْلَ وَٱلفَضِيلَةَ
And grant him preference, virtue,
وَٱلوَسِيلَةَ وَٱلدَّرَجَةَ ٱلرَّفِيعَةَ
[right of] mediation, and sublime rank;
وَٱبْعَثْهُ مَقَاماً مَحْمُوداً
and send him a praiseworthy status
يَغْبِطُهُ بِهِ ٱلاوَّلُونَ وَٱلآخِرُونَ
which all the past and the late generations wish to have.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ قُلْتَ:
O Allah, You have said:
﴿وَلَوْ انَّهُمْ إِذْ ظَلَمُوٱ انفُسَهُمْ
“And had they, when they were unjust to themselves,
جَاءُوكَ فَٱسْتَغْفَرُوا ٱللَّهَ
come to you and asked forgiveness of Allah,
وَٱسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُمُ ٱلرَّسُولُ
and the Messenger had also asked forgiveness for them,
لَوَجَدُوٱ ٱللَّهَ تَوَّاباً رَحِيماً﴾
they would have found Allah Oft-returning to mercy, Merciful.”
إِلٰهِي فَقَدْ اتَيْتُ نَبِيَّكَ مُسْتَغْفِراً
O my God, I have come to Your Prophet, seeking forgiveness of You
تَائِباً مِنْ ذُنُوبِي
and repenting before You from my sins;
فَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ
so, (please) send blessings to Muhammad and his Household
وَٱغْفِرْهَا لِي
and forgive them for me.
يَا سَيِّدَنَا
O our master,
اتَوَجَّهُ بِكَ وَبِاهْلِ بَيْتِكَ
I turn by you and by your Household
إِلَىٰ ٱللَّهِ تَعَالَىٰ رَبِّكَ وَرَبِّي
towards Allah, the Exalted, your and my Lord,
لِيَغْفِرَ لِي
so that He may forgive me.
